Aligned for Vitality

An exploration of self-care techniques based primarily on the principles of Alignment Yoga.*

This on-going hatha yoga class will include:
• Increased awareness of grounding and feet/pelvic floor connections
• Increased awareness of the breath and vital life energy (chi/prana) flow in the body
• Ways to awaken and strengthen core muscles of postural support
• Awareness of compensation patterns & habitual/inefficient ways of moving
• “Pre-yoga” techniques to improve alignment and muscle recruitment patterns.
• A focus on self-acceptance and awareness in the practice
• Tips on structuring your home yoga practice, and more!

* The term “Alignment Yoga” refers to an interpretation of Hatha Yoga brought forward by Scott Anderson, www.scottandersonyoga.com  Lyrea completed Scott’s 500 hour therapeutic yoga teacher training program, and has permission to use the “Alignment Yoga” name.

PLEASE NOTE: This class is NOT intended to replace medical care or give medical advice. This class is open to men and women with or without a background in yoga. Please wear comfortable clothing (no jeans please).

Fee
This class will continue at least until December 22, 2009. The drop-in fee is $12.50 per class, or buy an 8 week pass for $95. Pay at class, or in advance by mailing your check to: Lyrea Crawford, 18918 County Highway D, Hillsboro, WI 54634.
 
About the instructor:

Lyrea Crawford is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education Approved Provider. She is a state licensed and nationally certified massage therapist, and a Yoga Alliance Therapeutic Yoga instructor. Lyrea also teaches Traditional Thai Massage, Wu Style T’ai Chi Ch’uan, Meditation, and Usui Reiki.
